At the beginning of March, the DFL (German Football League) provided detailed information on the content, procedure and decision-making process regarding the allocation of media rights for the 2021/22 to 2024/25 seasons for the 1. Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga.
The package covers all 1. and 2. Bundesliga matches, including relegation matches and the Supercup for the 2021/22 to 2024/25 seasons.
In addition to the distribution in Germany, for the first time, the bidding process will also include the distribution in Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and South Tyrol.
The focus will be on digital package. For example, video and audio “in-match clips” can be distributed by purchasers of pay live packages while the match is still in progress and pay highlight clips can be used for the first time directly after the final whistle. The highlight programmes can also be made available “on demand” as a media library offer.

Live rights packages:
Package A: 1.Bundesliga: Conference Saturday 3.30 pm or Tuesday/Wednesday 8.30 pm > 166 matches (35 conferences)
Package B: 1.Bundesliga: all individual matches on Saturday 3.30 pm or Tuesday/Wednesday 8.30 pm and the relegation matches 1. Bundesliga vs. 2. Bundesliga > 170 matches
Package C: 1. Bundesliga: the top match on Saturday 6.30 pm and the Supercup > 33 matches
Package D: 1. Bundesliga: Individual matches on Friday 8.30 pm and Sunday 3.30, 5.30, 7.30pm > 106 matches
Package E: 1. Bundesliga “Free Live”: One live match on the 1st, 17th and 18th matchday in the 1. Bundesliga, opening match of the 2. Bundesliga as well as relegation 1. vs. 2. Bundesliga as well as 2. Bundesliga vs. 3rd League and the Supercup > 9 matches
Package F: 2. Bundesliga: Friday, Saturday afternoon and Sunday as well as relegation 2. Bundesliga vs. 3rd League and conferences > 275 matches and 98 conferences
Package G: 2. Bundesliga: Saturday 8.30 pm > 33 matches

Package H: 2. Bundesliga: Friday and Sunday matches on Friday 10.30 pm-12.00 am and Sunday 6.45-9.15 pm
Package I: 1. Bundesliga Friday and Saturday matches (except 6.30 pm game) and 2. Bundesliga Saturday matches (except 8.30 pm game) on Saturday 6.30-8.15 pm
Package J: 1. Bundesliga Friday and Saturday matches and 2. Bundesliga Saturday matches on Saturday 9.45 pm- 12.00 am
Package K: 1. Bundesliga Friday and Saturday matches and 2. Bundesliga Friday and Saturday matches on Sunday 06.00 am – 3.00 pm
Package L: 1. Bundesliga Friday, Saturday and Sunday matches on Sunday 9.15 pm – 12.00 am
Package M: All 1. and 2. Bundesliga matches directly after the game
Package N: All 1. and 2. Bundesliga matches from Monday 12.00 am
The final decisions about the distribution were originally planned to be taken in the course of May, but due to the coronavirus, a decision is now expected from June onwards.
