Since 1 July 2026 the Eredivisie has taken in €352.58m and spent €161.41m. The €191.17m surplus comes on by far the lowest spending of any of the nine leagues — the Netherlands do not only sell well, they barely buy.
The cheapest league in the data set
Total spending of €161.41m is barely more than Bayer Leverkusen invest on their own (€157.00m). Per club that averages €8.97m — against €206.18m in the Premier League, more than twenty times as much.
At the same time the Eredivisie’s €352.58m in income exceeds the Süper Lig and the Saudi Pro League combined. The income-to-spending ratio of 2.2:1 is the second best after Ligue 1.
Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord — and NEC
Ajax lead with €92.00m in income and a balance of +€55.60m. PSV take in €83.00m but spend by far the most at €53.50m, leaving them at just +€29.50m.
The genuine surprise belongs to NEC Nijmegen: €42.60m in income against €6.95m spent gives +€35.65m — the league’s second-best balance, ahead of Feyenoord.
A third of the league neither buys nor sells
Cambuur, Fortuna Sittard and PEC Zwolle record no transfer income. Telstar record no spending. Thirteen of eighteen clubs still finish positive — mostly with sums below one million.
That points to the league’s second reality: below the top clubs, almost no fee-bearing trade takes place at all.
